Keto Dumpling Stir-fry

Hi, everyone. I’m sorry for my long absence. I have been focusing on school. I have also been trying to lose weight, and making and testing recipes aren’t always conducive to that. Happily, I have now lost 50 pounds, and, hopefully, will be back in the blogging game soon.

I credit a huge portion of my success losing weight to meal prepping. It’s so easy. I cook all my lunches and dinners on Sunday, portion it into glass Tupperware, and reheat during the week. That way, I know exactly how many calories I eat during the week. And, I save time and money, both of which are a huge bonus for a struggling student working 80-hour weeks.

I have been doing the keto diet. The keto diet focuses on fat as a fuel, rather than carbs. It is restrictive because you keep carb intake under 20 net grams a day. It can be difficult, but I love it. Cheese, cream, and bacon are all on the list of things that you can eat, which makes it feel luxurious to me.

The only issue is that dumplings, my all-time favorite food, are not on the list. I made this stirfry to resemble dumplings in taste. If you’re not keto, feel free to replace the ground pork (a very fatty meat) with ground turkey or chicken. I also had some extra chicken from the other meal I made this week and threw some in. Feel free to customize as you want!


Time: 30 minutes

Serves: 5 (or one person for five days!)

351 Calories, 28 grams fat, 4.9 grams carbs, 17.6 grams protein



  • 2 heads broccoli
  • 1 pound ground pork (or turkey, if using)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (I like the pre-packaged type for convenience)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 small cabbage, diced


  1. Bake the broccoli. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Place on a cookie sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until soft and slightly browned. While this is baking, move onto the next step.
  2. Cook the pork. Heat a large pan on high. Add a teaspoon of oil in the pan, and heat until it shimmers. Add the pork and mix slightly. The goal here is brown the pork while getting it into smaller pieces. Add the garlic, five-spice, soy sauce, and salt and pepper.
  3. Cook the vegetables. Take the pork out of the pan and place on a plate. Add the onion, and cook until translucent, then add the cabbage. Cook until soft.
  4. Finish. Add the pork back in. Stir to mix. Serve, and enjoy!


I made a tahini sauce to go on top of this. I think it’s delicious!

  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water

Mix the ingredients and divide into 5 portions.
